Electronic Scanorder Application (ESA)
The Electronic Scan Order Application (ESA) is a digitisation service provided by Bayreuth University Library for teaching staff at the University who wish to set up an electronic course reserve collection for participants in their courses. In addition, ESA can be used by all employees of the University with a bt-ID to place scan orders for books or journal volumes held by Bayreuth University Library.
The scanned documents are supplied in PDF format.

For works protected by copyright, the legal basis for this service is the currently applicable copyright law. It is the responsibility of the lecturers to ensure that the legal copyright regulations are observed in the further distribution of the electronic documents. Lecturers must ensure that only participants of the course for which the digital copy is created are able to access copyright-protected documents. Further information can be found in the order form for scan orders.
Placing an Order
First, select the purpose of use (“Research” or “Teaching”) and the format (“Article or book chapter” or “Book”). In the subsequent input form, the required bibliographic details must be provided. Mandatory fields are marked with an *. If scanning is to be carried out from a personal copy, the corresponding option must be selected. In this case, you will be asked to print the order form and hand it in, together with said personal copy, at the circulation desk of the Main Library.
