Reference management with Citavi
Citavi helps you
Citavi is especially useful for extensive scientific papers. It is recommended to familiarize yourself beforehand with the software within the scope of a seminar paper or other smaller projects.
Citavi has recently been licensed by the University of Bayreuth for another three years until 31.08.2021. This provides enough time to plan your projects – whether you try Citavi for the first time or switch from another reference management software.
First install Citavi Free (limited to 100 reference records). To get the full version of the software (without any limits), you need a license. The license key for the full version is deposited online in your Citavi-Account which is created when installing the free version. Here a license for older versions can be generated, too. If you do not have an account yet, please register with your university e-mail address. Further information about retrieving your license data can be found in the manual.
The university library regularly holds Citavi training. New dates will be announced at the beginning of the next semester. Individual appointments can be arranged for groups of five or more (Contact).
We also offer video tutorials for self study. Our Citavi site offers further information.
