As part of the campaign
„Gemeinsam in der Bibliothek“ (Together in the Library) the Bayreuth University Library invites you to a Silent Reading Party on Wednesday, 18th November, from 5:00 to 7:30 pm in the Newspaper Reading Room of the Main Library.
At the Silent Reading Party, everyone reads their own book, magazine or e-reader in silence and with no obligations. Whether it’s a novel, a nonfiction book, or a graphic novel, the focus is on enjoying reading in a quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
After the event, anyone who’d like to can stay and chat with other book lovers. Those who prefer to enjoy the evening entirely on their own are equally welcome. In this way, the event creates a special space where reading brings people together - without the need for words.
To make the atmosphere cosy, feel free to bring your own comfort items, such as blankets, reading pillows and hot-water bottles. Hot and cold drinks in sealable, unbreakable bottles are also permitted. Food is not allowed in the reading rooms; for breaks, you may use the “Frischraum” or the Lounge.
Participation is free; there’s no registration required. Everyone aged 16 and older is invited to attend.
