What is sexism? Who does it affect? What can be done about it?
These questions are addressed by the touring exhibition “Together Against Sexism” (“Gemeinsam gegen Sexismus”) which will be displayed in the lounge area of the University Library (located in the Main Library) from 30th October to 15th December 2025. The exhibition features 13 English posters that explain the concept of sexism through examples while also showcasing its significance in society and different strategies against it.
The exhibition will be officially opened on 30th October 2025 at 11 am by the Deputy Women's Representative and designated Contact Person for Sexual Harassment and Sexual Violence, Prof. Dr. Karin Birkner, the Director of the University Library, Ralf Brugbauer, and the Director of the Gender Equality Service Centre, Miriam Bauch.
The alliance “Together Against Sexism” (“Gemeinsam gegen Sexismus”) is funded by the Federal Ministry for Education, Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and is committed to raising awareness about sexism.
