Our service tip for April
Working from home

Although our libraries are currently closed, you have access to the resources of Bayreuth University Library from home.
As a member of the university you can access our electronic media from off campus.

In our catalogue you can find e-books, e-journals and some articles (listed in the second tab " Articles & more ") as full texts. For searching e-books and e-journals, set the search field Format to "Online resource".

When you click on the button "Full Text" next to the search results you will be redirected to the publishing platform, where you can download single chapters in PDF format.

To have access to our electronic resources from off-campus, please install the University of Bayreuth VPN-software. Additionally you need to set a proxy depending on the type of browser you are using.

You find the proxy and the link for downloading the VPN-client on the website of the IT-Servicecenter "VPN an der Uni Bayreuth" (Unfortunately, there is no English version available.)
A summary of the instructions for adjusting the proxy in your browser can be found here.

Before starting your research in our electronic resources (databases, e-books, e-journals), please make sure to log on to the VPN-client and check if the proxy is activated.

By using this link, you can check if all your settings are correct: http://laps.uni-bayreuth.de/proxycheck/

In case of any technical difficulties, please contact the IT-Servicecenter.
