Over 60,000 titles added to our e-book selection

Bayreuth University Library’s selection of e-books was substantially expanded in the summer. Agreements were made between the library and three important scientific publishing houses to license either their entire e-book portfolio, or entire subject-specific collections of e-books. Full text access to all the titles contained in these collections – a total of around 60,000 titles – is possible for one year; Bayreuth University Library will then select a (small) number of titles to make permanently available.

All licensed e-books are already listed in the catalogue of the University Library.
In detail these are:
  • Cambridge University Press
  • With around 50,000 titles, almost the entire portfolio of the renowned publisher Cambridge University Press is available for use (download, print).
  • Springer Nature
  • In additional to the previously purchased e-book collections of recent years, the titles of the English language collections Biomedical & Life Sciences and Engineering from the publication years 2020-2024 (around 8,000 titles in total) can now be accessed as well.
  • Kohlhammer
  • For the first time around 650 titles of the publisher Kohlhammer can be accessed as e-books. This includes the entire collection of psychology titles published to date.

You can find further information on the entire range of e-books offered by Bayreuth University Library on our e-book webpage.
