Our service tip for June
Sockets in the library or "Where can I charge my phone?"
Most of the desks in the library reading rooms have been equipped with sockets in recent years, so that you can plug in your computer or charge your mobile phone. There is one socket per desk. If you are using an additional one, please release it as soon as your neighbour needs it.
Most sockets are positioned directly in the table top or in a cable duct between the rows of desks (Main Library, Departmental Library RW, Departmental Library NW I) or on the screen between desks (Main Library); in some cases only a slightly more concealed installation was possible: In the Departmental Library GEO, the sockets are located in a plastic channel which extends along the entire window front on both floors. Therefore you will find them on the side of (ground floor) or behind (upper floor) the desks.

Departmental Library NW II: New sockets for the window seats have been installed on the rear upper floor at the foot of the balustrade. Please use them instead of the sockets in the impractical flaps in the floor! Also new in the front basement of this library is the wall strip with sockets along the work spaces. In the entrance area of the Departemental Library NW II you will find the sockets on the underside of the table tops.
Please note that some work places are deliberately not open for computer use (silent zone in the Main Library, laptop-free zone in the Departmental Library RW) in order to provide a completely silent learning environment.
